  • As a senior media fellow at DePauw, students are given the creative freedom of choosing what they would like to do for their final project. After pondering the various projects she could do, Lexie decided to take her “Words of the Wise” podcast and focus on specific individuals in and around the university who have impacted her and many others in remarkable ways. Hence, welcome to “Words of the Wise: Greencastle Greats Edition.” This mini podcast series showcases the individuals who have left their mark on the small town Lexie has grown to love over the last four years… Greencastle. Although she will leave this bubble in a couple of months, this podcast provides oral histories for her to listen to on the days when she misses “Ole DePauw” and all of the people who make it what it is. Lexie has grown up hearing that it’s not the place, but the people that really matter. Greencastle does not have much to offer compared to many cities. A bowling alley, a small cinema, every classic fast food restaurant imaginable, a Walmart and a little dive bar that you can always find packed. Greencastle is, in short, a classic American small town– Nothing special. However, it is the people who inhabit this place which have made it feel like home to her… They’ve made it great, and Lexie can’t wait to share their stories!
