  • ADAM WILDER
    Jun 21 2023

    Introducing Adam Wilder!

Adam joins us to reflect on his path as an artist, comic and entrepreneur, stand up comedy, a travelling sauna, running a festival tent, a silent dating agency, and communications and relational coaching.

He reflects on the pains and challenges of being an artist, wrestling with ego and the need to be loved by the crowd. He shares with us lessons learned from training in clowning, exercises designed to increase sensitivity to the audience, open the performers’ vulnerability and humility, and create a more intimately shared experience for all.

We also think about owning our own shadows and dark sides and our capacity to be assholes, and compare this will approval seeking and people pleasing. We discuss setting boundaries and learning when to say yes and when to say no, connecting these to the development of one’s unique artistry and talent.

Sexuality also comes up, and we think about lessons learned in tantra and intimacy schools, which include serving the other, learning to take responsibility for our own needs, and the art of giving and receiving.

Finally, we think about group and band dynamics, the challenges that come from not treating all members as equals, and the dangers in firing members who ******appear****** to not be pulling their weight.

You can find more details of Adam's work and offerings here:

  • STEVE HOPPER
    Jun 7 2023

    Introducing Steve Hopper!

A man whose career spans serving in the Foreign Office during the Cold War, to working on the live production teams with artists including Van Morrison and The Levellers, to transformational coaching with artists and creatives today. We consider subjects like the nature of thought and our relationship to thought as well as our relationship to being an entity we call ‘ME!’ It gets deep but not up the rectum chat! This is real and can be brought into everyday life and we talk about that practical application of all these paradoxically difficult, yet also simple concepts.

We discuss transformative coaching, which places its emphasis on disrupting patterns, and developing the capacity to create the new - or as Steve puts it, “placing the ball where it isn’t”.

We think about improvisation, life narratives, and accepting the fact that at best, life is a series of happy accidents; that only in retrospect do clear pathways make sense to us.

Steve also opens up about his experience with burnout, depression and anxiety, sharing what he learned about his mind through the experience and how he bounced back. We discuss learning to observe and influence thoughts, and finding sources of meaning in life.

We also talk about about failure, trial and error, and trial and success, connecting this back to the idea that we never know what is about to happen, and that creativity is about placing the ball where it isn’t!

Here is a bit about Steve Hopper:

Steve Hopper is a business coach and creative mentor working internationally with a wide variety of talented people in entertainment, arts, leadership and sustainable business, helping them make more impact in the world and get more out of themselves, their talents, their work and life in general.

To say Steve has a ‘varied background’ is a significant understatement. He started his working life as a communications and technical security specialist with the Foreign Office for over a decade before embarking on a freelance career that has included graphic design, photography, film making, copywriting and brand consulting, plus a stint with an ambitious startup venture—all interspersed with stints on tour as a live sound engineer for artists including Van Morrison, Swing Out Sister, the Levellers and Foy Vance.

After a series of major life changes and struggles with his mental health over a decade ago, Steve became increasingly interested in personal transformation and holistic wellbeing, ultimately reshaping his working life around coaching, creative mentoring and group facilitation. Today he has a rapidly expanding international practice, with clients in the UK, Europe, North America and the Far East. and has recently become a guest lecturer at the UK’s prestigious National Film and Television School leading workshops on leadership and collaboration in creative environments.

Steve is also an exhibiting artist, photographer and (very) occasional poet.

  • TRAILER!
    May 12 2023

Listen in to the slightly, but necessary dragged out trailer about this world we are opening up. It's about time we discussed the crazy journeys and conflicts that artists go on. The massive downs and huge ups. The judgement placed on us by those that don't understand why we are following a creative path.

We know so many people who are making art or facilitating creatives in some way. I realised that I have been a student of this question with many of my arty friends for a while. I also see that i have gained so much value from it. So, we want to bring the conversations me and my colleagues find so fascinating into the public domain and share it with as many artists and creative industry professionals as possible. First episode comes out on Wednesday 17th May with a very special guest! Listen to the TRAILER!
