Vicky Phelan: The Big Interview

  • Summary

  • Cervical Cancer survivor Vicky Phelan didn't set out to be a national campaigner. When first diagnosed with cervical cancer in July 2014 her concerns were for those nearest and dearest to her which was her family, with that in mind her recovery was the main focus. After doing her own research she discovered a miracle drug that has kept her cancer at bay and let her live a relatively happy life despite being diagnosed with terminal cancer. Throughout the years she has watched and grieved for many women that have passed away from cervical cancer while continuously fighting for improvements and awareness of women’s health. Vicky speaks to Ciara Doherty about her diagnosis, her family, her anger towards the government and her request to allow her to die with dignity and on her own terms
