  • Epistle of : 1st Peter 1:1 Introduction to Peter - The Life of Peter - Who Was He? -Prog 01
    Nov 4 2024

Dr. Mitchell, begins a new series in Peter. He gives background on the apostle Peter as found in the four Gospels and Acts.

Peter was first of all a fisherman, then a disciple, then an apostle. As an apostle, he wrote two New Testament books.

1st Peter was written to show the true Grace of God to encourage those enduring trials.

2nd Peter was written to show the sufficiency of the Grace of God in the midst of false teachers.

Peter was the first one to proclaim the revelation of God the Father that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. Jesus would build His church upon this rock which is God's Divine revelation of who this Jesus is.

Peter writes about this Jesus, the stone rejected by men, but choice and precious in the sight of God.

Here is Dr. Mitchell in 1st Peter 1:1, on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

    Nov 1 2024

Dr. Mitchell explores the need and reason for studying the Bible, the Word of God. He will look at 1 Timothy 3:16-17 and other relevant scripture related to God's inspiration of His Word.

Inspiration means God breathed. Inspiration is God's superintending of the human authors of Scripture so that using their own personalities and vocabularies, they composed and recorded without error, God's revelation to man in the original autographs.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, 1Timothy 3:16-17 on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast.

  • Epistle of James 5:13-20 - The Effectual Fervent Prayer of The Righteous Has Great Power - Prog 24
    Oct 31 2024

The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast deals with the need for faith in the midst of suffering. We are exploring James chapter 5 verses 13 thru 20.

Dr. Mitchell looks at the prayer of faith from a righteous man. Elijah was such a man who, like us, prayed fervently. God heard and answered. God stopped the rain for 3 ½ years, yet the Lord provided for Elijah. Elijah prayed again and the Lord sent rain from heaven.

Dr. Mitchell speaks concerning prayer for the one who is sick and afflicted.

Are you in a place of affliction today?

Pray to God concerning it because He is concerned about the things that concern you!

Here is Dr. Mitchell, James 5:13-20 on this last message on the book of James.

  • Epistle of James 5:10-13 - Patience in View of Suffering - Prog 23
    Oct 30 2024

In our study in the book of James, we are in chapter 5 verses 10 thru 13. Dr. Mitchell speaks to us concerning various O.T. prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. They are still a witness to us of patience and suffering Job is especially pointed out as one who suffered with patience. The Lord greatly blessed Job at the conclusion of his suffering.

Dr. Mitchell gives us two important lessons we learn from Job. One is repentance toward God in view of self righteousness. The other lesson is the Glory of God in the suffering of the godly.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, James 5:10.

  • Epistle of James 5:1-6 - Unjust Gain Brings About God's Just Judgment - Prog 21
    Oct 28 2024

On the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast we are in James chapter 5 verse 1. Here James gives some very stern words. From the previous verses we learned of those who planned their business affairs without God for the purpose of making a profit. Here in chapter 5, James begins by taking these same wealthy but unbelieving men to task. They had been unjust in making their wealth and had not paid their workers what they were owed.

Dr. Mitchell brings a good balance incorporating Scripture that brings light to our hearts. Gaining riches at the expense of one's relationship with God brings judgment.

Here is Dr. Mitchell, James chapter 5:1.
