Listen in to hear what the 2024 REEU cohort spent their summer doing. Projects this year included analysis of anaerobic digestate effects on plant growth, understanding barriers preventing farmers from participating in gleaning programs, efficacy of garlic extract as a fungicide and more. The team consisted of students from UMass and Greenfield Community College.

This year's program coordinator, Izze Clark, was part of the 2023 intern cohort.

Projects this year included herbicide alternative weed management research, elementary and middle school agricultural education, pollinator and other beneficial insect research and more. The team consisted of students from UMass Holyoke Community College and Greenfield Community College.

In 2022, the UMass Extension Fruit Team and Stockbridge School of Agriculture launched its inaugural season of a five year internship experience. Each year, a new cohort of students will join Dr. Jaime Piñero and his team to teach students about opportunities in the world of agriculture from seed to classroom.
