In this episode of the podcast, keyboardist Aron Magner, Joey, and Max trace the song's long journey from its conception last January through its first live performance in Chicago. You'll hear the earliest instrumental loop, an initial incarnation called "The King and Queen of New Jersey," Joey's vocal demoes, and snippets of backstage rehearsals, culminating with Aron's analysis of the song's live debut.

E071 - New Springfield Boogie Stop Shuffle - Alex Mazer is a creative polymath who works across an array of visual and audio mediums, including digital mashups and memes, video production, fashion, poetry, and songwriting. While he's probably best known by his online moniker New Springfield Boogie (or, alternatively, "that Simpsons guy from Shakedown"), Alex is also a frequent collaborator of the Disco Biscuits. In this episode Max and Alex discuss his contributions to such Biscuits songs as Falling, Another Plan of Attack, and In the End We Have Forever. Along the way, they delve into the evolution of jamband lot art from bootleg merch to high fashion, the origins of the Biscuits' custom CornerTwelve jumpsuits, and how Alex got tapped to officiate Barber's wedding.

JRG3 was the Disco Biscuits' lighting designer for more than two decades, and his artistry behind the console was a defining element of live Bisco. Beyond that, Johnny was a loyal friend, a generous mentor, a father, and a diehard Biscuits fan.

Touchdowns All Day will be dedicating a future episode of the podcast to Johnny, and we'd like you to be a part of it. Joining us this week is bass and keyboard tech Ben Travers. Ben joined the crew in January 2024, and since then he's worked closely with Aron and Marc to shape the Biscuits' current sound. He updates us on the state of Aron's ever-evolving keyboard array and sheds light on some of the newest enhancement to Marc's bass rig and Moog setup. From washing dishes at a local club to supporting major international touring artists on stage and off, Ben has held down nearly every job in the live music business, and he brings a unique perspective and skill set to what Marc has been describing as the best crew in the Biscuits' history.
