2038 - Late Summer.

Mia and Nick have been raising funds for Climate Mutual Aid, trying to assist the storm victims and refugees from the war. However, the household itself is on the brink of going separate ways, trying once again to tackle the question ‘how to live?’

2038 – Spring - Another baby has been born, Lucia.

A new pandemic is sweeping across the country. In the midst of this tide, an immense storm howls in from the Solway Firth. And there are storms in the household. Chloe and Olivia are clashing, Mia confesses her love for Alex, while Erin and Andrew are in despair.

2037 – Winter Festival.

Eight at night in a room lit by candles and the woodburner. Much has changed in the household. Andrew and Chloe have got married and have a little boy, Micha. Mia and Alex are deep in an affair. Nick is leaving the Agency whilst Erin is exhausted by work. The Festival Party never arrives.

2035 – 5 th May – Spring at Kirkconnell House.

The house is on flat land that borders the River Nith, close to the town of Dumfries, South West Scotland. Members of its oddkin household are gathered for lunch in the courtyard outside to celebrate youngest sister Erin’s Spirit Day. Alex, the new Director of the Agency arrives.
