I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill.

It's been about forty-eight hours into the new Trump presidency and the chaos is already getting started. I don't want to get into that too much as every media outlet across the world will be doing that for us.

Instead, I want to talk a little about the why's of what we are seeing across the world. I can't even begin to scratch the surface, but I do want to pay particular attention to the United States today and why they've been trying so hard to subjugate the world for the last more than one hundred years.

Once I have offered everyone my take on all of this, using journalistic articles and a couple of YouTube videos I found, I ask everyone to stick around through my commercial break, so I can read you another chapter of The Priest, from Michael Campi.

So, come sit you down next to someplace warm and listen to me tell you what's going on beyond mainstream media, with a broad perspective on the things you aren't being told.

This week, I had another long conversation with my friend Mitch, as you may remember from last year, lives in central Florida.

We've talked about these things before but, with Trumps inauguration upon us next week, we're running a little scared of the future and what his already chaotic presidency may bring us over the next two to four years.

Come join us as we talk about the future, sometimes, with a little humor, our fears of, as he puts it, the new version of Hitler's infamous Brown Shirts, who may soon be visiting a neighborhood like yours. Knocking on doors, demanding to see residency papers.

We talk about the Trump's rhetoric about the annexation of Canada, Greenland, the possible military invasion of Mexico and Panama, and what that might mean for the rest of us. What's going on in Europe right now and what that might mean for the rest of us.

Sometimes, the conversation veered into some personal things, such as our families, how they are managing all of this change and what their futures may look like.

The podcast is long but, as I watched it while editing, it seemed like the time went by quickly. So, come in and join the conversation with a reply or two to let us know if our fears resonate with yours and your family members. Are you worried about ICE or another division of Homeland Security coming to your neighborhood to put you or your neighbors in labor camps soon? Are you worried about Europe's economy failing and the EU collapsing? Are you worried about how climate change may affect you after watching the fires in Los Angeles?

I know it's been a bit since I read everyone any stories so I have collected several for today, this first day of 2025.

Happy Christmas from The Village Oak Tree

I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. This is my Christmas show, even though I don't typically celebrate Christian holidays.

As I said last week, this week's podcast is primarily going to be about this latest Trump tactic of taxing/tariffing the hell out of Canada and Mexico. Canada is running scared as a twenty five percent tariff on all imports from Canada to the U.S. would cripple the Canadian economy. I have several news stories from the CBC Canada news media along with a blog article from a young Canadian friend of mine, who graciously wrote the article when I asked her for a contribution on this subject.

I also have some other news stories to talk about that may also have an effect on everyone's lives after the holidays are over. So, stay tuned as we dig into the stories I have found for you.

After my commercial break, I found an inspiration Irish Christmas story to read to everyone as my gift to all of you who watch this video. I would ask that you give you appreciation to the author if you read along with me.

So, come sit you down by the crann nollag (Christmas tree) and listen to me tell you some tales about the world outside.

This was a relatively unplanned episode because I had originally planned to read stories and poetry this week. Once again, I was caught up in world events and also, I had a little push from a friend to say something about corporate greed.

Please watch as I offer a little history on western corporations, the wreckage they have caused across the planet in the last five hundred years, and how the west is starting to wake up to the damage they have and are causing in all of our lives right now.

After the break, I bring you another chapter of The Priest. Once formerly known as Bob by Michael Campi.

This week, I have another commentary on the breaking and not so breaking news from the past few days. I offer a take on what's going on in Syria, South Korea, Europe and the United States.

I save the bit about the failing health care system in the United States for last.

After the break, I read another chapter from The Priest, chapter 19, to offer a continuing glimpse of what an economic failure in the Unites States might look like someday soon.
