  • Wood Co. BOE Seeks Revenge On Former Student Now In College
    Jan 22 2025
John Davis and his daughter Hallie continue their fight for freedom against a board of education that has a vendetta against them. The fight began in 2022, Hallie's senior year at Parkersburg High School, when she and her parents sought a medical exemption for the lone immunization shot she was lacking. Having been injured by a previous vaccine, Hallie felt it best to not have another. While seeking the exemption, DHHR rules stated that the student be given "provisional enrollment". Instead Wood County BOE officials fought against Hallie returning to the school. Later, thanks to a judge's ruling, Hallie was allowed to finish her senior year in school. Upon graduation she attended college in North Carolina and has now transferred to college near her home. Yet still, the Board has chosen to take the now moot case all the way to the WV Supreme Court, costing taxpayers roughly $30,000.
