Episode 7: My Life with ADHD – A New Perspective on Thriving with ADHD

In this episode, I share a personal journey through life with ADHD, diving into the challenges, realizations, and unique opportunities that come with this neurodivergent condition. I reflect on what ADHD truly means—not just as “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder” but as an experience marked by an intense need for novelty, high engagement, and variety to thrive.

I explore the ways ADHD can be both a struggle and a strength, discussing how our brains often require consistent doses of novelty, effort, and engagement to function at their best. While the inability to gain sustained dopamine from mundane tasks can create barriers, this very trait can also fuel entrepreneurial tendencies, hyperfocus, and endless creativity in environments that challenge and inspire us.

I also address why mimicking neurotypical approaches to life can be problematic for those with ADHD, offering insights into how we can create systems and environments tailored to our needs. By reframing the symptoms—turning perceived weaknesses into tools for success—and aligning interests like sports, nutrition, and sleep to optimize our functioning, ADHD can become a pathway to unique opportunities.

Through personal anecdotes and reflections, I share how to embrace ADHD as a part of life’s equation—combining structure, self-awareness, and the right opportunities to thrive. This episode is both a candid exploration of living with ADHD and an invitation to view it from a new perspective: not as a limitation, but as a unique lens through which we can organize our lives, discover our strengths, and unlock our potential.
