• The Road to Hope, with Robyn Ivy
    Nov 7 2024
In this episode we'll explore what it takes to actually turn dreams into reality. Today I am sharing the “Road to Hope”, the very process I experienced preparing to bring my spiritual teacher, 89 year old Grandmother Esperanza, here to Rhode Island for the "Restoring Hope" 10-day wisdom event series I created. So we start from the point I received the vision for this series. Why? Because having a good idea is one thing, but making it actually happen is another completely with at least 1000 lessons in between. When I was alerted to the unexpected “have to take the walls down to the studs” mold remediation project 3 weeks before her arrival; the challenge of integrating lofty spiritual teachings into my daily life immediately became very real. As I prepared my home for the event amid unexpected renovations, I open up about the trials and triumphs of navigating life's upheavals with grace and the guidance of cherished mentors like Esperanza. We'll explore the intricacies of creative pursuits, unveiling self-compassion, resilience, and the courage to face challenges. In this episode, My hope is to give you a front row seat into what can happen and how to stay in the arena with it all when you decide to make the thing, do the thing, create the thing. How to navigate challenge and change amidst chaos and unexpected hell…could have been another title. Tune in as we uncover tales of personal growth, the power of community, and the art of balancing effort with surrender. Whether you're seeking to bring your creative visions to life or find solace in shared experiences, this episode promises to inspire and encourage you to take the next step on your own road to hope. Join us on this adventure of spirit, heart, and transformation. In this episode, you'll uncover three transformative keys: Embracing the Chaos: Discover how navigating the unexpected (like my unplanned home reconstruction!) can spark new beginnings and clarity.Intuitive Guidance: Learn the art of blending intuition with action, crafting a path that honors both the whisper of our hearts and the lessons from wise teachers like Esperanza and Mamita.Joyful Surrender: Unlock the balance between effort and letting go, finding the magic in surrendering to life's mysteries. In our latest episode, "Sharing the Sacred Wisdom of the Grandmother's," I had an amazing conversation with Heather Hall Dudney about what it was like growing up the daughter of a world renowned medicine woman, Grandmother Flordemayo and how her mother’s teachings shaped who she became. We discussed the value of seeking wisdom from indigenous grandmothers, the importance of supporting elders, and the joy of sharing positive wisdom in today's chaotic world. Here are the key takeaways from our discussion: 🔹 Seek Wisdom from Indigenous Grandmothers: Heather shared her experiences traveling with her mother and other indigenous Grandmothers like Grandmother Moetu who is Maori, and Grandmother Unci Rita who is Lakota. She emphasized the simplicity and effectiveness of the wisdom they share any why it’s so important to embrace one's cultural heritage and learn from the teachings of indigenous grandmothers. 🔹 Support Elders: She offered us the respectful etiquette of offering support at events involving elders and indigenous groups, highlighting the significance of reciprocity, gratitude, and financial contributions. Additionally, we discussed promoting events and shifting focus to support wisdom keepers and their valuable teachings. 🔹 Embrace Positive Wisdom: In today's world, it's crucial to spread acts of kindness, support elders, and share positive wisdom on social media to maintain a positive and connected mindset amidst chaos.
