The Pebble In My Shoe - Ep. 14 - 'Mindfulness Brought me Home'

Eilish O’Rourke is Mindfulness Instructor

Her business name is @sensing_moments

Eilish supports ladies who are ready to learn how to focus their attention, how to break the cycle of just existing, to feel love, joy, fun & peace in their hearts & minds.

She teaches how the mind works & how to be in the moment.

Originally from Granard, Eilish qualified as an Accountant and worked in Dublin before meeting her husband, moving to Kilbeggan and raising her family.

Life kept showing her that while she was good at her accounting job there was another path for her. She was guided to Mindfulness, which she now teaches & is a regular on Athlone Community.

Eilish is also a Reiki Healer.

Below is a poem Eilish wrote in response to a moment of angst instigated by thoughts about Christmas.

Back in the past and there to stay Is 24 hours called Yesterday A History of moments living how I knew Accepting them as I moved through It cannot change or be flexible but There are lessons to learn where possible

In the future not available to borrow Is 24 hours called Tomorrow A Mystery to be the best of me Allowing what will be will be so Here to the times ahead and With hope welcome where I thread

All that remains here on display Is 24 hours called Today This Present moment is a gift in essence Because of living in the mindful presence So past and future to you I bow I have control you won't steal now

The Pebble In My Shoe - Ep. 11 - 'No Mud, No Lotus'

I usually have a guest but this episode is a replay of an episode of a Mindfulness Podcast that I produced during the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020.

The subject is No Mud No Lotus which is an expression used by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who founded the monastery Plum Village in France and wrote and taught extensively on the subject of Mindfulness.

The idea of 'No Mud No Lotus' helps reframe our experiences and come to recognise that we can actually grow from adversity. I have come to choose to believe in life happening for us rather than to us and I hope that this help shine light on the how the mud in your life might actually help your lotus to bloom.

I speak for about 20 minutes on the subject and then guide you on a meditation for a further 20 minutes so you might want to sit and experience the second part.

However you choose to listen, I hope you enjoy it.

Aine Morris is Head of Global for ethical tea brand, Wilden.herbals. She writes the Substack newsletter, Reap & Sow, exploring the reality of 20-yeaes working with UK hospitality. She was Managing Director of the Bristol Food Union, a social enterprise born out of the Covid-19 crisis when a group of the city’s independent restaurants and food businesses came together to help keep Bristol fed.

Aine has also headed-up brand partnerships and food programming for Yeo Valley’s annual music and food festival, Valley Fest. Prior to the crisis, Aine was Chief Executive of the Abergavenny Food Festival, and was previously Director of Communications at the Sustainable Food Trust.

With an undergraduate degree from Slow Food’s University of Gastronomic Sciences, Aine is passionate about how to build an inclusive, participatory UK food system that’s resilient enough to withstand the future impacts of the climate crisis.

The Pebble In My Shoe - Ep. 9 - 'Oracles and Divination'

Marion Tierney is a card reader, combining the tarot and oracle cards which she says gives a person an intuitive spiritual soul reading and offers practical guidance.

She also offers shamanic healings with a special interest in ancestral healing, house and land healing. She loves to visit sacred sites and is drawn to healing the land and homes.

She recently completed her shamanic counsellor training and is an energy healer too. Providing Usui and Ama Deus Reiki, also Rahanni, working with the celestial pink angels and higher beings. She is a Reiki Master.

She has a connection with animals especially dogs and horses and hopes to offer healing services to the animal kingdom. She uses crystals in her healing practices and often makes crystal grids with intentions in the land she visits where required. She lives in Ballinrobe in Co Mayo.

She frequently gives card readings at holistic fairs and events.

The Pebble In My Shoe - Ep. 8 - 'From Greyed out to Full Colour Living'.

Lorna Lyons is an ex-teacher by profession and has successfully launched two online businesses in the space of two years which allowed her to walk away from her "day job" to work full time in her business.

She holds a First Class Masters in Applied Psychology (Positive Psychology Coaching) and used her Strengths Based Coaching philosophy for her first business, Bump and Beyond Wellness (preparing pregnant women for birth and postpartum).

Through the development of this business, a spark was re-ignited inside her as she discovered a passion for doing something she loved.

Through the development of her courses and programmes for The MumBOSS, she has combined her expertise of 1) coaching mums to enhance their wellness and 2) building a successful online business in order to support other women wanting to have more flexibility to be with their children at home and be financially independent.
