    Michael is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Jacobi Capital Management.  Michael has over 35 years of investment experience, beginning in 1985 with Thompson McKinnon Securities. In 1992, he became fully independent and opened a Wilkes-Barre branch office of LPL Financial.  Over the years, he quietly and successfully built his investment practice, and in 2008 formed Jacobi Capital Management, LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser. 

    Michael’s commitment to focusing on the individual extends to the community through his philanthropy and active and former involvement with various Boards including the Catholic Youth Center, YMCA, Volunteers in Medicine, Luzerne Foundation, Salvation Army, Junior Achievement of NEPA, Kirby Center for the Performing Arts and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center Advisory Board. In addition to community awards, Michael has been named to the Barron’s Top Financial Advisor list six times. Michael earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Dickinson College. He now lives in Jackson Township, Pennsylvania with his wife Kathleen, and together they have two grown children.

    Ed Ackerman has been a full-time faculty member at Luzerne County Community College for the past 31 years, but he always refers to himself as a writer who teaches, not the other way around. Ed has worked in local journalism for 54 years, starting as a sportswriter just out of high school at 17 years old. Since 2014 his column "Ed Ackerman, the Optimist," has appeared on the front page of Greater Pittston Progress, distributed by The Citizens Voice. He began his column, which has won a First Place Keystone Award, in 1984. As an educator, Ed has appeared in "Who's Who Among College Professors" and has been awarded the "Excellent In Teaching Medal" by NISOD, The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development. He currently teaches writing and communication classes.
