As 2024 comes to a close, Matty Wasserman and Zach Lyons return to take a bigger-picture look at the first semesters of NU's men's and women's teams, including what went right, what went wrong, and what a successful second half will look like for each squad.

Earlier this month, WRBB Sports' Matty Wasserman, Luke Graham, and Zeno Minotti sat down with Northeastern Athletic Director Jim Madigan for a wide-ranging interview. In the episode, Madigan discusses his current thoughts on the men's and women's hockey teams, how Northeastern is navigating the new world of NIL and the transfer portal, the shifts in men's college hockey with the addition of the CHL, how Northeastern plans to adjust for the new arena, and much more. Matty and Zach return to breakdown a high and low week of Northeastern hockey! They begin by breaking down the women's pair of 1-0 victories of Uconn, as the team finally got the weekend sweep they'd been searching for all season behind an impressive series from their freshman netminder Then, they flip over to the men's team (13:30) and unpack another weekend with a lot of competitive play, but ultimately no victories to show for it -- and the underlying causes behind yet another slow start to the season.

Matty and Zach break down the women's 2-1 defeat to Providence and where the team needs to look to produce more consistent offense, and then dive into the men's one-point weekend against Maine, and where the team goes from here after a 1-3-1 start to the season (19:55).

Fresh off a weekend in the Mile High City, Matty and Zach return home to break down all aspects of the men's two losses to No. 1 Denver, and why Saturday was an encouraging sign for the season despite the result.
