    Of note: The original reel-to-reel recording was not salvageable for digitization, so Carolyn and Kel proved they still got it and jumped into the studio to re-record their lines.

    All of the songs featured in this show are from Carolyn Meyer and Kel Pickens’s album “The Music of Our Language” and were all written by Carolyn and Kel.


    The musicians on the album were as follows:

    • Carolyn Meyer: lead and background vocals, piano, Moog Opus 3 Synthesizer, vibraslap, claves, wind chimes, and whistle
    • Kel Pickens: punctuation sounds, snake hisses, “Run for your lies!”, laughter sound effects, “Mmmm,” with cookie crunch
    • Mike Hufford: drums, bongos, seeds in a small canister and engineering the whole recording
    • Donnie Mitchell: bass guitar
    • Jim Blair: banjo, acoustic rhythm guitar
    • Randy Pease: acoustic rhythm guitar
    • Rod Boutwell: slide guitar, lead guitar, pedal steel guitar, background vocal reggae guitar
