  • The Mostly Professional Podcast Trailer
    Jul 6 2020

Hello, and welcome to the Mostly Professional Podcast, where we explore the space between beginner and master of craft and career from people just like you.

I’m your host, Matthew James French. I’m a Brisbane based actor, musician, writer, and tutor.

In this show, I interview people of various fields and backgrounds from actors, directors, small business owners, designers, and others who are pursuing their passions and goals with a DIY attitude and hard work. These people may be working solely in one area or across disciplines, working in the area they love or perhaps using their day-jobs to fund and create time for the work that is more meaningful to them.

What I want to know is what they do, how they do it, advice they have for others in their fields or for anyone who wants to align their time, craft, and career closer together.

Some of the topics I’ll also cover are productivity, creativity, finance, monetization, self-development, work-life balance, making and finding opportunities, and projects in development.

This show was inspired by podcasts like the Tim Ferriss show, the Joe Rogan Experience, and Stumble Through Podcast, who interviewed lots of different kinds of people about their crafts and careers. What I was looking for though was to also learn from people like me, who were still on their journey, a few years into doing what they love and navigating the challenges and obstacles of real life. I also wanted something a bit more local and current. Sometimes the ways of old don’t work anymore, or apply to every industry or part of the world. I want to talk to those in the thick of it, some of whom are still figuring it out for themselves, just like us!

I hope you join us on The Mostly Professional Podcast to learn and be inspired as you make your way in the world.
