What does it look like to live excellently? Proverbs 31:22 describes a woman who is a good steward with money. She's a good steward with her time and resources. This woman is a hard worker and dressed in fine linens. Marla shares a personal story from growing up with her meticulous father. He believed that you should always look your best for your spouse before dress up for anyone else. Very challenging thoughts to ponder. Lord, please help us all be a little more like the Proverbs 31 woman.

This Proverbs 31 woman demonstrated order in her home. She planned ahead. Our families will benefit from us leading with order in our homes. As these verses remind us to care for the needy and care for our homes, we're reminded that we are training our children to, in turn, train their children in the same way. And so we build a legacy or caring for others and strengthening our families.

My prayer for us is that God would help us to be diligent regarding the needs of our families. We must be aware at all times, never slothful but always perceiving how we can strengthen the members of our families God has entrusted to us. I pray you are encouraged and challenged with your "distaff and spindle."

This Proverbs 31 woman addresses it all, my friend. She is business savvy. She is a thinker. She doesn't waste time. She "strengthens" herself. We must do ALL THE THINGS we need to do to live this life intentionally and with excellence. Proverbs 31:16-17 shows us how to work hard, whether you stay home or work outside the home. What a challenge! We have a responsibility to strengthen ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually...God please help us be diligent in that task.

What an honor to provide healthy meals for our families. Marla shares her heart regarding home-cooked meals, healthy meals and occasionally enjoying a meal out. This Prov 31 mom and wife was working hard to provide the best for her family. Our society may be encouraging quick meals (and there is a time for that) but that is not the norm. Today, we focus and ask the Lord what is best for MY family. Follow His leading for your family and any necessary changes that need to be made in order to provide the best for our families.

What an incredible example God has given us in Proverbs 31. This woman is a hardworker and does it with "willing hands." There is amazing blessing and favor from God as we follow the lead of the Proverbs 31 woman. This study will encourage you to reevaluate your time, your work and your heart in serving the Lord...as you serve your family.
