  • Disney's live action reimagining of the 1989 beloved classic is in cinemas now, with Halle Bailey taking on the role of Ariel. It's...fine. Perfectly watchable and harmless, but not as enticing or imaginative as the animated version, opting for more photorealistic animals as opposed to exaggerative and exciting portrayals of Flounder and Sebastian to name a couple. Halle shines, the directing is decent, it's just lacking a spark and ends up looking like a cgi blur under water for the most part. It'll be successful though so check it out if you're a fan of Disney's cash grabbing ways with their remakes.
