He co-founds and christens the neo-psychedelic pop group The Teardrop Explodes with Julian Cope but walks out of the band just as they are about to break big and goes to work in a tearoom instead. He then forms The Wild Swans, the indie-band of choice for literary-minded teens in the early 1980s, and Care with Ian Broudie of The Lightning Seeds, sharing a flat with a seventeen-year-old Courtney Love along the way. Marriage, fatherhood, tropical illness, and divorce follow, interspersed with artistic collaborations with Bill Drummond and members of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, among others. Following an onstage reunion with Cope at the Royal Festival Hall, Simpson discovers that seven thousand miles away, in the Philippines, he is considered a musical god. Presidential suites, armed-guards, police escorts you couldn’t make it up, and, incredibly, he does’ t need to. Revolutionary Spirit is the story of a musician driven by an unerring belief that artistic integrity will bring its own rewards. It concludes with an exorcism of sorts as Simpson finally rids himself of the debilitating demon of psychological depression that has, from the age of nine, run like malware in the background of his life.

Born on October 14, 1968, in Guernsey, Le Tissier spent all of his professional career playing for Southampton Football Club in the top flight of English football. Le Tissier’s career spanned from 1986 to 2002, during which he became renowned for his remarkable technique, vision, and ability to score spectacular goals. He possessed incredible dribbling skills and a unique style of play that made him a fan favorite and earned him the nickname “Le God” among Southampton supporters. Le Tissier won the PFA Young Player Of The Year award in 1990 and remains to this day the only Southampton player to win their Player Of The Season award 3 times. He was also the first midfielder to score 100 premier league goals Throughout his time at Southampton, Le Tissier consistently showcased his brilliance on the field. He possessed a natural talent for scoring goals from various positions, often producing stunning strikes from long range or executing audacious chips and volleys. His ability to create opportunities out of seemingly impossible situations was a testament to his exceptional footballing intelligence and creativity. Le Tissier’s loyalty to Southampton was evident as he rejected several offers from top clubs, choosing to remain with his beloved team. Despite Southampton’s occasional struggles in the league, he remained a shining star and played a vital role in keeping Southampton in the top flight. In addition to his club achievements, Le Tissier also represented the England national team. However, his international career was limited, and he earned only eight caps for his country. Despite this, his skill and influence on the pitch were undeniable. After retiring from professional football, Le Tissier transitioned to punditry and became a familiar face in the world of football broadcasting. His insightful analysis and honest opinions have made him a respected figure among football fans. He also became a fierce critic of government covid policy in recent years and his views saw him attacked by the mainstream media and was sacked by sky sports. However he stood firm in the face of these attacks and has seen the support for his stance grow as the truth starts to emerge about what really went on in government during the covid fiasco. He’s also tried to give a voice to the vaccine injured and is a staunch advocate of freedom of speech and bodily autonomy. Nowadays Matt is a regular on the after dinner speaking circuit where he has earned a reputation as a very funny and reliable anecdotal speaker , a contributor to GB News with his social commentary and a football pundit on Indonesian tv with Mola.

  • Everton FC & Burnley FC Club legend Martin Dobson - The God Cast Interview
    Dec 13 2024

Martin Dobson (born 14 February 1948) is a former professional footballer and England international who played as a midfielder. He was the first player to be transferred for £300,000, when Everton bought him from Burnley in August 1974. Playing career He was born in Rishton and attended Clitheroe Royal Grammar School. He was signed as youngster by Bolton Wanderers who spotted him playing for Lancashire Grammar Schools. However he was given a free transfer and moved on to Burnley.[2] He had a long and successful playing career, playing for almost 20 years and totalling over 600 league appearances while playing for Burnley, Everton and Bury. He won five England caps overall, four while at Burnley and one while at Everton. His first England cap was awarded to him by manager Sir Alf Ramsey (because of FA Cup commitments of other players) on 3 April 1974, a 0–0 draw against Portugal. However, he impressed enough to win four more caps that year. Managerial career As well as finishing his playing career with Bury, Dobson became their manager until 1989. During this period they were promoted from the old Fourth Division and became an established Third Division side.[3] Dobson was appointed manager of Bristol Rovers in July 1991, but was sacked after only 12 games in charge in October of the same year.[4] On 10 January 2010 he was appointed joint caretaker manager of Premier League side and former club Burnley, with Terry Pashley, after Owen Coyle left the club for Bolton Wanderers. However, Dobson and Pashley never managed a game due to the rapid appointment of Brian Laws. Laws kept Dobson on his coaching staff in the short-term as he built up his backroom staff. Dobson then returned full-time to his role as Burnley's director of youth development.[5] Dobson left his post as director of youth at Burnley in October 2011 after his contract was not renewed by manager Eddie Howe who instead appointed his reserve team manager Jason Blake, from former club AFC Bournemouth, as academy manager. Dobson became the professional development co-ordinator at Everton in February 2018.
