God has given us gifts and talents through which we can share Jesus with those around us. 2 Chronicles 16:9, “The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” One of the definitions of the word, strengthen, is “joining.” God wants to join with us to accomplish His will through our lives—especially when we make sharing the gospel our priority. Matthew 2 recounts the story of the wise men who generously offered their gifts to Jesus. In Luke 1, the angel, Gabriel, called Mary blessed and highly favored. He didn’t say that Mary was perfect. He emphasized that God’s grace and favor were upon her to empower her to carry out God’s will for her life.
