This episode continues our quest to learn about The Vitality of Prayer. Grab your Bible, a pen, and some paper and join me as we look at how Moses prayed on Mt Sinai for the sins of the people..

Exodus 32 is major event in between Israel being in captivity in Egypt and the promised land of Canaan. God is giving Moses the law, written by His own hand, on tablets of stone. Then God tells Moses there is trouble in the camp and God wants to focus on His anger against the people. He tells Moses He wants to create the nation again from Moses because He is going to destroy them all. Moses now pleads the case for God's plan for mankind. It is a logical prayer based on God's promises to Abraham. God hears Moses and changes His mind. THEN Moses goes down to the camp and actually sees with his own eyes what the people have done. Now Moses is emotional. He directs the Levites in executing God's punishment on the people and then Moses prays again. This time his prayer is more emotional. He is begging for mercy and forgiveness for the people. If God says their lives are forfeit, he would rather go with them (remember God offered to create a nation from him just a bit before when he was on the mountain) to death. Logic and emotion. Pleas or an orderly case laid out for God. All are proper in prayer when directed toward God in a way that acknowledges His sovereignty and glorifies Him. Your messy, muddy prayers are just as worshipful as the ones said in an orderly fashion at another time. God just wants you to PRAY. Take the time to study prayer so you can be more diligent about prayer. This is your conversation with God! Make it a good conversation.

Season 4 of The Diligent Woman Podcast is going to be all about The Vitality of Prayer.

First Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "rejoice, always pray without ceasing. In everything. Give thanks for this as God's will for you in Christ jesus." It's God's will for you that you are able to rejoice, pray, and give thanks.

This episode is the first in our new series on The Vitality of Prayer. Grab your Bible, a pen, and some paper and join me as we look at how Jesus taught His disciples to pray. Luke 11 and Matthew 6 both share Jesus' teaching how to pray. Both instances show how prayer is personal and emotional while also being worshipful and purposeful. This lovely "template" for prayer gives you a place to start. When you study other prayers in the Bible you will see the same themes Jesus covers here, but you also see how many different ways prayer can be offered. Take the time to study prayer so you can be more diligent about prayer. This is your conversation with God! Make it a good conversation.

Over in Acts 17:24 through 28, we're told that he needs nothing. But he wants you to reach for him and to find him. God reveals himself to you all the time through the created world around you. But he took the effort to speak to you, to share ideas with you, to connect with you through the written word, gathered through the centuries, so you would want to know him and want to talk to him.

Now it's your turn. The Vitality of Prayer is the connection it keeps open between you and God. You can pray to him because you know he is the faithful, loving creator. You can trust him with your good days and bad days because you know he cares.

Prayer is meant to be personal.

Join me for 12 weeks as we study prayers in the Bible and learn how to develop the capacity to grow and live in relationship with God through prayer.

    All your passion,

    All your vigor.
