Satnam Narang, Senior Staff Research Engineer, Security Response, Tenable, recently sat down with The Cyber Express to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity.

Satnam Narang has an extensive background in web filtering, antivirus, anti-malware, and vulnerability management. His expertise has helped companies build research teams and enhanced the existing workforce through his experience in research and content development.

Satnam Narang has spearheaded annual threat research reports of Tenable. Narang has also built and improved processes to ensure uniformity and consistency in deliverables to key stakeholders, including executives. He has presented research findings to customers, building trust and helping sales secure renewals and new business opportunities.

One of Satnam Narang’s primary areas of focus is social media scams.

Over the last decade, his research into social media scams has earned him placement in major publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.

As a public spokesperson, Satnam Narang is regularly quoted in several security publications.

In the newest edition of The Security Pill, Narang spoke about the upcoming release of GPT-4 and the potential for even more advanced language models like LLMs (Large Language Models) in the near future.

While these developments are exciting, Narang also addressed the concerns surrounding the use of AI language models like ChatGPT and GPT in cybersecurity.

According to Narang, we are only “scratching the surface” of the potential threats and attacks that could be launched using AI-powered tools like these.

However, he also emphasized the importance of continuing to develop and refine these technologies to improve our ability to defend against cyber threats.

In addition to discussing AI, Narang also shared his thoughts on the future of cryptocurrency.

He believes that the notion of cryptocurrency as a completely decentralized and anonymous form of payment is false, and that there are still significant vulnerabilities and risks associated with using cryptocurrencies.
