A lot people remember cruising around in our car with friends. It was 1988. It was a warm summer evening, we didn't have a care in the world, and somebody was going to die before the night was over.

Enigmatic Greenpeace co-founder and leader of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Paul Watson, asked me to meet him in Paris to discuss the film script I had written about him. It was the first and only time I've ever had to meet the real life subject of a film project I'd written.
