I set the intention this season to have deeper, more challenging conversations where we had the opportunity to sit in the comfort of some potential disagreement - so how did I do?

In today's episode, I reflect on my experiences during this last season and share some of the things I learned!

It can be so hard to be in a relationship with someone who is completely different than you - or that you strongly disagree with!

And we tend to respond in interesting ways when we find ourselves in this situation - if we are feeling generous we might just choose to focus on what we agree on, or we put the relationship in the agree-to-disagree category, both potentially keeping the relationship shallow, or we leave the relationship making the other person a pariah and someone we label as toxic.

But what if there was another way of doing it? Of making our differences the reason why we are in relationship?

Joining me for today's conversation are Marie Gasper-Hulvat and Carlene Saelg.

There's so much buzz around the word empathy - at times it can seem like the ultimate virtue, the one that could solve the world's problems.

But there's a problem with empathy - too much of it can actually do more harm than good!!

How often do you find yourself doing all the 'right' thing, the thing that everyone said were going to solve your 'problem' only to find it - it doesn't?

Or maybe you finally found something and it worked - for a while, but now you're not sure why it doesn't anymore? And the only thing you can think of doing is doubling down.

It's so easy to feel stuck - or hopeless. But what if...it's actually what is supposed to happen?

Diving into today's conversation of what it means to be a human are two lovely human beings: Jen Uschold and Stephanie Aycock!
