Teenage Mixtapes: The Soundtrack of Growing Up

  • Summary

  • In the third episode of the first season of The Princess Mixtape, I talk about the songs that have been important in my life from high school to college. I think about how comfortable K-pop can be and I mentioned that BTS and Jessi's music helped me get through hard times and Moira & Jason's "Ikaw at Ako" was the soundtrack to my first love in the Philippines. I also talk about how music changed my confidence, pointing out songs like "Who Dat B" by Jessi and "Aphrodite" by Ashley Sienna that made me feel strong. I also talk about how a 432 Hertz song that calmed me down helped me get through the chaos of college. I keep saying in the episode that these songs are important not only because of their tunes but also because they remind me of important events like homecoming dances and college parties. Royals will learn three important lessons about the power of music: how to build confidence, make routines that make you feel good, and get clarity by clearing your mind. I want you all to share your own musical stories so that this episode is a celebration of the songs that make us who we are!
