Roxanne is a multi-faceted entrepreneur. She owns a private online homeschool, tutoring and consulting business. Roxanne says that she’s very eccentric. Which is probably a weird way to describe herself to someone but the sense of the word means unconventional or slightly strange and she is a bit unconventional. Roxanne doesn’t think in the manner of most and her perspective about life is a little strange.
Roxanne wanted to be a teacher because she loves children. Someone told her that that statement alone was not enough. She disregarded their opinion and pursued education anyway. She later found out that she hadn't communicated what she meant by “I love children” in the correct manner. So here's her explanation again: “I want to be an educator because I love the smile on their face when I haven't seen them in two, five, or seven days because of a weekend or break. Knowing that in about thirty seconds they won't be able to contain their thoughts and let me know everything I have missed in their lives. I want to be an educator because learning is lifelong. When we are children that is the time we are the most hungry for it. I wanted to be an educator because I valued the time and effort someone spent leading me to what I wanted to do in life. There are so many reasons that I could go on and on.”
