  • Living for Jesus in Today's Society Episode 5: CompariSIN
    Feb 3 2023

Welcome to the Spiritually Fit podcast, I am your host Liz Davis, Jesus Lover, Mom, Wife, and Founder/CEO of His Temple Fitness Co. I am so incredibly excited to be sharing my passion for the Lord and wellness with you all!

In today's episode we talk about something we have all fallen prey to at some point or other in our lives, comparison or compariSIN as I like to call it. We discuss the ways in which we compare ourselves to others, whether it be in our day-today-lives, on social media or even how we all have tendencies to compare the "current us" to different seasons of life.

We also touch on the detrimental effects it has on our psyches, our emotions, our motivation and even our relationship with the Lord, particularly when it leads us to the sins of envy, jealousy and coveting.

We finish up discussing what the Word, The Truth, GOD says about these things and I give you some tips on how I try to steer clear of the compariSIN trap.

Thank you again so much for tuning in! If this episode resonated with you, please make sure you are subscribed, and if you feel led to, please share this episode with someone you feel may benefit from listening.

  • Living for Jesus in Today's Society- Negativity, Negative Self-Worth and Self-Sabotage
    Oct 25 2022

In today’s episode we touch on a few different areas, all of which pertain to the poor outcomes that result from both external and internal “inputs” of negativity. We are discuss how we, as a society, tend to have an abundance of negative self-belief and poor self-esteem, as a result of the things we hear in the world, often times in our own homes as children and even the negative thoughts we tell ourselves, which we know to be the lies of the enemy. The constant negative input leads to poor views of who we are, and feelings of hopelessness about the world around us, leading us to sabotage ourselves when it comes to both our bodies and our spirits. Our negative self-esteem, poor outlook on our environment as well as other psychological causes, results in so many of us engaging in and giving in to behaviors that do not align with our physical and spiritual goals. Tune in to also see how, and what, we can do to flip the script and lean into God, taking our thoughts captive and making them obedient to Christ. We will use God's Word and common behavior change techniques, such as self-reflection and journaling, to help us learn to love who we are as people and recognize our self-destructive behavior patterns.
