  • Maximizing Your Worth: A Guide to Charging and Working with High-Value Clients
    Feb 5 2024

In this episode of the Soul & Success podcast, we took a deep dive into the critical questions that can help service providers, especially those in marketing, determine if they're ready to work with high-value "whale" clients. These are the three pivotal questions we explored:

    1. How much can you realistically charge today based on your current skill set? It's essential to understand your market value and not just charge based on what you think you're worth. Mastery of your craft and understanding the market rates for your skills are crucial.
    2. How much should a business be making to comfortably afford you at that price tag? You need to ensure that potential clients have the budget not just for your fees but also for the necessary tools, campaigns, and additional team members that might be needed to execute your strategies effectively.
    3. Are you working directly under the founder, the CEO, or a marketing leader? Knowing who you'll report to is vital. Working directly with a founder or CEO can be intense, so you might prefer having a buffer, like a marketing leader, to give you the space to work effectively.

I shared my personal journey from corporate to entrepreneurship and back to corporate on my terms. I emphasized that redefining your corporate career doesn't mean sticking to the traditional 9-to-5 but finding a way to navigate the corporate world while maintaining your autonomy.

The episode also touched on the importance of being honest with yourself about your level of expertise and the value you bring to the table. Whether you're a Facebook Ads Manager, a social media expert, or a copywriter, you need to be a master of your domain to command higher fees and deliver results that impact the bottom line.

Lastly, I introduced my free e-book, "The Marketer's Compass," which further elaborates on these questions and helps women in marketing chart their path to ideal clients.

Remember, understanding your value, ensuring clients can afford you, and knowing who you'll work with are key to successfully engaging with whale clients and redefining your career on your terms.

  • 12 Key Tactics to Expand Your Sales Pipeline Effectively
    Feb 5 2024

Welcome back to our latest episode where we dive deep into strategies for growing your sales pipeline. We start by clarifying what a sales pipeline is and its importance in correlating marketing efforts to the bottom line of a business. It's crucial to continuously generate leads to avoid the pitfalls of relying on a few clients, which can lead to financial instability if those relationships end unexpectedly.

I share my personal approach to lead generation, emphasizing the importance of cold outreach and utilizing a CRM like Copper CRM or HubSpot to manage and follow up with potential clients. I stress that while we may have limited resources, such as budget, time, and creativity, cold outreach is the most effective method for growing a sales pipeline without the need for paid advertising or content creation.

In this episode, I also provide a list of 12 strategies to expand your sales pipeline:

    1. LinkedIn Networking and Lead Generation: Utilize Sales Navigator and engage with relevant groups and posts.
    2. Content Marketing: Showcase your expertise through various content forms, but prioritize revenue-generating activities.
    3. Webinars and Workshops: Offer value and potentially upsell your services.
    4. Referral Programs: Create incentives for peers and past clients to refer new business.
    5. Speaking Opportunities: Share your expertise, but focus on selling one-on-one before attempting to sell to many.
    6. Paid Advertising: Validate your service and pricing before investing in ads.
    7. Partnerships and Collaborations: Work with complementary service providers to expand your reach.
    8. Email Marketing Campaigns: Build and nurture your list, but be cautious with cold outreach to avoid domain issues.
    9. Social Media Engagement: Build a long-term presence but focus on immediate revenue-generating activities.
    10. SEO Optimization: Improve your website's visibility, but don't let it distract from more direct lead generation methods.
    11. Customer Success Stories: Use testimonials and case studies to build trust and showcase your value.
    12. Mastermind Groups and Mentorship Programs: Join communities where your ideal clients are present.

Remember, while it's great to try all these strategies, it's best to focus on one at a time and consistently work on it. The key is to stop "being a baby about it" and commit to the process to ensure a steady stream of high-value clients.

For more detailed tactics on each strategy, check out the ROI Club, where I share all my marketing resources. And don't forget to download the free "Marketer's Compass" eBook from my Instagram for additional insights.
