    Its early April and pockets of brief sunshine are punctuated by the kind of long downpours that seem to define spring in Britain. Around the country, co-workers walk into offices, shaking themselves dry and declaring "This weather, ay?" neither a statement or really a question. Half the newspapers confidently state that warmer weather is just around the corner, while the other half ply their readers with pictures of better climates, and idilic far flung holidays.


    For you though, there is only the rain as you wait in the car as your other half runs some errands. You were tempted to spend the time looking at your phone but the thump of the rain on the car roof has a certain tranquility to it, so you close your eyes, and take a nap.
