When we think "wounded for transgressions" and "bruised for iniquities" we must never forget that He (The LORD Yeshua, Jesus Christ) was marred beyond description.
And so the scriptures go on to tell us that not only was this Jesus rejected, but the scriptures also say that there was no beauty in Him that we should desire Him. Nobody desired "that man on that cross." His own disciples fled and abandoned Him.
Now the scriptures go on to say that "He was despised." Think for a moment that He was despised by all who saw Him on that cross. After bruising Him, whipping Him, and spitting on Him they just despised Him.
Yet His death on the cross restored humanity. His death on the cross allowed HIS faith to operate to the point where man in general is now able to receive HIS work done on the cross and by HIS faith receive A SAVING FAITH IN HIM!
