    Dec 18 2024

This our last episode before a brief festive break, and I am super excited to welcome Tara Dower on the podcast today. She is an incredible thru hiker and ultra runner that has just made history and set the overall FKT (Fastest Known Time) on the iconic Appalachian Trail in 40 days, 18 hours and 5 minutes.

She tells us more about what she loves about the trail and her motivation to take this on. We also deep dive on how she worked with her crew to find flow state and keep pushing forward knowing they were 120 miles behind at the beginning.

We also talk about racing Hardrock before the FKT, curiosity, confidence, and her view on the sport, women and what’s ahead.

  • 28: Renee McGregor on her Running Journey, Nature Connection, & Leading with Compassion
    Dec 11 2024

So happy to share my conversation with Renee McGregor on the podcast today. She’s a best-selling author, a sports dietitian specialised in REDs, female athletes and endurance sports and an accomplished trail runner herself.

We discuss her journey towards a life closer to nature, aligned with her core values in life but also, in her work to help athletes thrive in their health and endurance journey. She shares how running has been a powerful way for her to connect with nature, support her mental health and find social connection. From her first run alongside the canal, to ultras in the mountains, she reflects on the achievements, its impact on her self-confidence but also her hopes it can help others from minority groups, to take on these adventures too.

We also discuss finding balance, the power of taking a step back to recognise where we are, as well as her experience with sarcoidosis and perimenopause.

Plus, she answers some fantastic questions from you, our listeners, submitted via Instagram stories

I hope you love listening as much as I loved this conversation, enjoy the episode!
