This week I’m joined by absolute powerhouse and self-promotion extraordinaire (no joke), Stefanie Sword-Williams. I was first introduced to Stef back when I worked as a Buyer at ASOS and as her talk finished, I remember being blown away by not only her knowledge and confidence, but also in her ability to instil that confidence in every single person in the room.
Since then I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Stef on a more personal level and after leading a workshop together last year, I can confirm she is in fact one of the smartest people I know. No matter where you’re at right now, this episode will leave you feeling ready to shout about what you’ve got to offer from the rooftops.
In this episode we cover:
- How to take action on your goals and ideas
- How to ask for a pay rise and promotion
- The importance of networking
- When and how to pitch yourself
- Where to get the support to help your loved ones who might be struggling with their mental health
About Stef
Stefanie Sword Williams is the founder and author of F*ck Being Humble. She created the business to encourage individuals to be unapologetically proud of their achievements and overcome the fear of self-promotion. Named as Forbes 30 Under 30 in Europe, Stef talks have reached people in over 50 countries and she’s delivered workshops for global brands including Unilever, Google, Adidas, Unilever, Microsoft, Innocent, Vodafone, The Guardian, The BBC as well as spoken at conferences such as Cannes Lions Festival and D&AD New Blood. In 2020 Stef released her first book ‘F*ck Being Humble: Why self-promotion isn't a dirty word’ and also delivered a TEDx Talk on why the world needs to be a little less humble. Most recently she became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts following the significant contribution to social impact she has made since building F*ck Being Humble.
In 2022 Stef launched a community platform ‘This Might Help’ offering guidance, reassurance and peer-to-peer support to people who are helping others through mental health issues and trauma. Stef hopes to provide close the ‘support gap’ in the mental health industry by sharing resources that can support carers.
