  • Holy Week with Troy Hatfield
    Mar 27 2021

Digging into the richness and tradition of Holy Week, Troy Hatfield brings profound reflections on Lent amidst pandemic, personal transformation and schools us on the beauty of the Feast of the Annunciation!

    Invitations to practice this week:

    1. Contemplation: Choose one of the gospel accounts of the death and crucifixion of Jesus and read it multiple times a day for three days. Then take an imaginative approach, thinking about what happened along the way, allowing yourself to sink deeply into the story.
    2. Face the difficulty of waiting. Ask yourself: What is currently unresolved in my life? What appears like it will remain in the tomb? Name it as specifically as you can. And then consider sharing that with one person.
    3. Mourning: Find time to sit and allow yourself to face the intensity of your emotions right now. Give yourself permission over these three days to let yourself lean into those feelings.

    In this episode:
Cross-Shattered Christ: Meditations on the Seven Last Words of Jesus by Stanley Hauerwas

We pray that you find richness this Holy Week as we anticipate the joy of Easter. Practice well.
