San Juan, PR - Carolina, San Juan and Toa Baja, Rincon Surf Report for 12-21-2024

  • Summary

  • Surf's Up, Island Adventurers! This is your epic wave report for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Today's looking like a high-octane surf day with massive swells around 6 feet across most regions. Adrenaline seekers, listen up! We've got a high rip current risk through this afternoon, so channel your inner surf ninja and stay alert.

From San Juan to Culebra, expect mostly sunny skies with scattered showers and occasional thunderstorm cameos. Southeast winds are dancing around 5 to 15 mph, creating perfect conditions for wave riders and thrill enthusiasts.

The Northwest and Northeast regions are serving up some serious wave action today. Beaches in Rio Grande, Luquillo, Aguadilla, and surrounding areas will see substantial surf heights that'll make your board tingle with excitement.

Pro tip: While the waves look incredible, those rip currents are no joke. Life-threatening conditions are likely, so respect the ocean and know your limits. Wear a leash, bring a buddy, and keep your wits about you.

Sunday brings a slight chill to the wave party - rip current risks drop to moderate, and surf heights mellow out to around 4 feet. Still plenty of fun, just with a bit less intensity.

Looking ahead to Christmas week, expect consistent surf around 4-5 feet, mostly sunny days, and those classic Caribbean scattered showers. East winds will keep things interesting, ranging from 10 to 20 mph.

Stay stoked, stay safe, and ride those waves like a legend!
