S1E5 We Might Even Have a One Night Stand

  • Summary

  • Dr. Lulu is a queer Nigerian-born, pediatrician, mom of a transgender daughter, bestselling author, 3-time TEDx Speaker and certified life coach.

She was named the 2021 Advocate of the Year by the San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce and received the DEI award for 2022 by the San Antonio Business Journal.

In September of 2022, she was selected as a participant on Oprah Daily Insider “The Life You Want” Class on Service hosted by Oprah Winfrey, with special guests Van Jones and Rebecca Welsh.

She works to eliminate youth suicide, particularly amongst LGBTQ+ youth, by coaching parents, caregivers, extended family members (and the entire village it takes to raise and save a child) struggling with acceptance and support of queer kids.

She speaks on parenting, LGBTQ+ issues, and youth suicide prevention. She has been interviewed by Oprah Daily, CBS This Morning with Gayle King, and numerous local, national and international news outlets.

She is the host of Moms 4 Trans Kids podcast.

We do touch on sensitive subject matter, as well as some triggering topics. Discretion is advised. If you’re struggling with your mental health, please call 1-877-565-8860 or visit 988lifeline.org for more resources. As always, nothing said here is medical advice, but lived experience by individuals within a community.
