Your testimony is one of the most powerful tools God’s given you. You could invest heavily in learning Scripture and doctrine, mastering apologetics and how to defend the Bible but find yourself struggling to win anyone over. Those can be good tools as well – there are times when they can be very effective – but as Pastor Dan will point out in today’s message, nobody can argue with your testimony. It’s what you personally experienced and it can connect with the hardest hearts.

Paul’s example in today’s passage is both inspiring and challenging. Few Christians can claim to have this level of compassion. We may desire to see the lost saved – especially good friends or family members – but what about complete strangers? As Pastor Dan will point out in today’s message, Paul had a deep desire to see his fellow Jews come to Jesus. He was so passionate about it, that he was willing to give up his own place in God’s Kingdom if it meant they would come in.

There’s been a deceptive idea going around Christian circles for some time, teaching that the Law of the Old Testament is irrelevant to the modern Church because of Christ’s work on the cross. Many might label themselves as “New Testament believers”, implying that they don’t need the Old Testament at all. As Pastor Dan will remind us in today’s message, the Law God gave in the Old Testament was fulfilled in Jesus, not abolished. It still offers us a reminder of our need for a Savior.
