    --

The world was gripped in the summer of 2023 when a 49-year-old Australian woman was accused of poisoning four members of her own family via a toxin-laced Beef Wellington. On the 29th of July that year, Erin Patterson served four of her ex-husband’s family members a dish containing Amanita phalloides, also known as “death cap” mushrooms; three of them tragically died.

Patterson still claims to this day that the whole thing was a complete accident entirely out of her control. However, her previous history of potentially poisonous plots begs to differ, especially when it comes to her ex-husband, Simon.

  • FROM THE VAULT - Episode 275 - The Assassination of Olof Palme
    Dec 13 2024

In February 1986, the prime minister of Sweden was walking home from the cinema, when a man stepped out of a shop doorway and shot him in the neck with a .357 Magnum. The killer ran down a side street – and disappeared without a trace.

The mystery surrounding Olof Palme’s death is a Swedish national obsession that's barely left the headlines in the decades since. Hundreds of theories, from international hitmen to lone gunmen and police conspiracies, have swirled around one of the most extensive murder investigations in history.

And then, in 2020, investigators called a press conference – to announce that they had finally found the killer…

Compelling True Crime Podcast

Red Handed is currently my favourite true crime podcast. The hosts (Hannah and Suruthi) choose interesting cases and give a well researched and concise rundown of the facts and chat in an accessible and often funny way. The humour never seems inappropriate and the pair are very likeable.

My only minor gripe would be the sound quality of the earlier episodes. When Suruthi in particular is speaking her pronunciation of words containing ‘s’ sounds are so high pitched and uncomfortable to listen to I’ve had to skip quite a few episodes. This isn’t a problem later on so they must have addressed this. It seriously sounds like a kettle boiling.

Love love love!

Really love your podcast! I’ve loved listening to you from the start, although as a woodwind player (flute!) I don’t get how you’ve never heard a clarinet as an adult?!?! 🤣🤣🤣

Really worth a listen

I am so late to the game here. A friend recommended this to me, and it's so good! The presenters are brilliant, and even cases I've listened to prior to this podcast I've learnt more about. I started right back at the start, and I am already nearly 100 episodes in. It's really worth a listen!

Bloody brilliant!

I've been listening to these girls since they started. I love how they are balanced and none judgemental and well informed. They are, obviously well regarded within the true crime podcasring genre as seen by the calibar of guests they have had even before their award , this is well deserved after years of hard work.

Just Brilliant !!

Only 25 episodes in but I absolutely LOVE that I have finally found a podcast about True Crime that does more than just tell you about the fact of these cases.

it's like listening to two friends having an honest chat about these crimes in a very real and very funny way. keeps the topics light enough that it's engaging all the way through without becoming disrespectful of any victims.

I feel like I'm listening to a conversation that I would have with my own friends (if they liked true crime).

Love Them!
