- Tabbat yadaa abee Lahabinw-wa tabb

- Wamra atuh hammaa latal-hatab
- Fee jeedihaa hablum mim-masad
English Meaning (via Quran.com):
- Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he!
- His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.
- He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame,
- And his wife [as well]—the carrier of firewood.
- Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.

Narrated Ibn Abbas (RA):
When the verse "And warn your tribe of near kindred" (Quran 26:214) was revealed, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) called his family to Islam. Abu Lahab ridiculed him, saying, "May you perish! Is this why you gathered us?" In response, Surah Al-Masadd was revealed.
