  • Radio Talks With Learning Waves - Episode 7 - Social Media Strategy for Radio with South East Radio's Marion Barry & Christiane O'Connor Daly
    Sep 15 2022

South East Radio had an intention to develop a digital marketing and social media strategy for the station that touched all departments and ultimately provide new offerings for clients. But it wasn’t until they engaged with Learning Waves that they were able to take action and emerge from the courses with a bespoke roadmap of digital transformation for their station.

Throughout 2020 and 2021 the team at South East Radio leaned into the Learning Waves course offerings with a particular focus on digital marketing and social media.

According to Marion, there was a real appetite to upskill as they had seen the wave of media change approaching in recent years.

Christiane leaned into the power of LinkedIn for B2B sales and now utilises it as a core lead generation and prospecting tool. As a newbie to radio she really relished the opportunity to find out about the role of social media for radio, going on to say "I had never used LinkedIn for sales before but I was really pleasantly surprised to see the results after applying the learnings from the social media for radio course".

“Everyone says that they don’t’ have time to take a course, but we need to make the time, as it will pay off both in the short-term and long-term. To having a working social media strategy for your station at the end of 10 weeks is an amazing achievement. This is the best investment you will ever make”, Marion Barry.
