Queenie

By: Steve Furst
  • Summary

  • Thanks to a friend of his, broadcaster and journalist Magnus Finch comes into receipt of a batch of mini-discs containing interviews with an extraordinary character - Queenie, one of Britian's most notorious violent offenders. This is a man that was born into a privileged background but, in the 1980s, he embarks on a life as a hardened violent criminal. Finch tracks down relatives, former colleagues, cell mates, those in the prison system and psychologists, to try to better understand what made this seemingly rather effete man from a rarified world decide that he would become one of Britain's most feared prison inmates.

Written, voiced and produced by Steve Furst.

Superbly written and brilliantly performed

What an absolute joy to listen to. Superbly written and brilliantly performed by Steve. I met Queenie, and Lyn, a couple of times between 2020 and 2021 during the great lockdown. Luckily for me, it was through the safety of a computer screen, so I’m alive to tell the tale. Listen to this with no distractions. Give it your full attention. Well done Steve Furst!!

totally captivating

Steve is excellent in his storytelling. I was really drawn in with his use of background audio and voices.
A must listen.
