The election season is behind us. Congrats to those of us who supported Trump and my sympathies to those who are filled with despair at the news. Long live the USA 🇺🇸 What a joy it has been to find a connection to an authentic source of creativity within, and then to find another with an independent but aligned connection to their own source and to have that energy come alive in connection and bounce back and forth between us. From the phone call I made to Luca from Amsterdam in August where I told him "yo, it feels wild to say this out aloud but I think Trump is the right choice in this election" through now, we did our part in ensuring that @DonaldJTrumpforPresident got elected, especially important (in my perspective) to do so in the liberal bubble of Asheville in the swing state of North Carolina. I hope our words gave strength to those of you who were afraid of speaking up. This is the follow up on the conversation I had, emergently themed on abortion, with a brother who is voting for #kamalaharris this election. I get single issue voters through this content creation journey. As much as I feel aligned with many things that #trump has proposed, I get it why people would want to punish him for being instrumental in overturning Roe v. Wade. If that's you, I support you. At the same time, I hope that folks with a progressive orientation around abortion access – which is that humans should have the option to decide if they want to abort (in some cases) – move to the states/communities which have horrifically restrictive policies and foster the grassroots change required for the states to themselves change their regulations. In the long run, progress fostered from the grassroots seems to win out over progress imposed from top. There's so much more to talk about on this subject and I'm personally sick of the stalemate between pro-choice and pro-life bandwagons, both failing to represent and speak adequately to their shadow sides. #abortiondebate

"Fascist" is a word that gets thrown around quite easily these days along with other words like "bigot", "racist" and "transphobic". These adjectives have become placeholders for "I feel upset about something that you said". Our society has gotten so numbed out and expect so little actual change from politicians that someone who doesn't stick to prepared scripts and shows more dimensions of their human personality than puppet politicians who manage to maintain their one-dimensional image, is considered odd. The establishment of politicians is about to crumble just like the numbed layers of a human being are ready to crumble right before some deeply repressed trauma is revealed and in that moment of crumbling, there's a protective fear of Death that gets projected outwards onto the "threat". But as is the case with a healing journey, you are actually not really "dying", it's just parts of you that no longer serve you are fading away. Similarly, with this political saga, it's not that Trump is "fascist", it's that aspects of the political establishment that have just milked societal problems for money over decades are about to fall away. Naturally, this brought up the question of climate change and how to solve it and what is the right combination of policies and individual entrepreneurship necessary to bring us to a place where Capitalism can continue thriving and bringing forth individuation, sovereignty and upliftment while also not subjecting our beautiful planet to the Tragedy of the Commons. In this video, me and Luca break down the case for why Donald Trump is the opportunistic choice for the progressive cause in the upcoming elections. We unpack what it means to make 'opportunistic' choices in service of a long term vision. How when we are rooted in our values, we can allow ourselves the freedom to look at a wide range of present options to make choices that are aligned with the long term future we envision rooted in these values. We also unpack some negative connotations that folks might have with the term "opportunism". We recorded this one right before Hurricane Helene hit Asheville. I feel conflicted about uploading it during this trying time and at the same time, my heart knows that discussing these choices and presenting a nuanced case for Trump is critical in this really important upcoming election.
