On January 1, 2025, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, resulting in the death of its driver, 37-year-old Master Sgt. Matthew Livelsberger, and causing minor injuries to seven others. Authorities determined that Livelsberger died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound just before the explosion, which was caused by a combination of fireworks and fuel canisters inside the vehicle.
