Definitions (note: definitions are not identities)

Trans or Transgender - An adjective used to describe people whose gender identity, expression, or behavior is different from what would be expected given the sex they were assigned at birth. Not all transgender people are transsexuals – in other words, there are people who identify as transgender who have no interest in hormone treatment or other medical procedures.

Pansexual - Someone who is sexually or romantically attracted to people of all genders or attracted to people regardless of gender.

Bisexual - Someone who is sexually or romantically attracted to people of two or more genders.

Masc - short for masculine, meaning someone who is masculine-identifying and/or presenting and may or may not identify as a man.

Femme - short for feminine, meaning someone who is feminine-identifying and/or presenting and may or may not identify as a woman.

Polyamory - a relationship structure in which individuals may have more than one intimate partner, with the knowledge and consent of all partners involved. It can be described as consensual, ethical, or responsible non-monogamy.

Consensual Non-Monogamy - Refers to several different types of interpersonal relationships in which some or all participants have multiple marital, sexual, or romantic partners. Ethical non-monogamy or consensual non-monogamy (CNM) differs from cheating or infidelity in that everyone involved has freely and explicitly agreed to this open form of relating.

Relationship anarchy (RA)- The practice of forming relationships that are not bound by rules except those mutually agreed upon by the people involved.

Swinging - A non-monogamous behavior in which couples engage sexually with others as a recreational or social activity. The swinger community sometimes refers to this practice as “The Lifestyle”.

Progressive - a person advocating implementing social reform or new, liberal ideas.
