  • Wrap It Up: Reflecting on Your Year with Intention
    Dec 19 2024

How is it almost the end of the year? I’m definitely feeling the world is moving at lightning speed! Before I get in to today’s solo episode, I do have a few announcements to make.

On Dec 29th I’m hosting a vision board session at the Awareness Center in Pasadena California. Whether you’re a seasoned vision boarder or brand new to the idea of vision boarding, if it’s calling you, please join! I’d love to have you. Space is limited.

For my friends in and near San Francisco, I’m hosting a vision board workshop at The Thriving Women in Business Center on January 18th from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

Lastly this is for my early bird planners…April 24th thru 27th I’m co-leading a women’s retreat with my good friend Mitta Wise in Fallbrook, California. It’s called Awaken Your Vision Within. This is for you - the busy woman looking to reconnect with your inner vision, know your direction… and bring your creativity & vision to light. If you consistently put yourself at the bottom of your list & want to be at the top - It’s time to reclaim that purpose. Whether you’re balancing career, family, entrepreneurship, or just a jam-packed schedule, “Awaken Your Vision Within” retreat offers a rare opportunity to step away from your daily routine and shape your future how you really want it to be!

Ok, as we wind down 2024, I thought it’d be a great time to share some reflection prompts with you, so you have time. Do this before you jump into the new year. Let’s dive in!

  • The Connection Cure: Interview with Julia Hotz
    Dec 12 2024

This coming Saturday December 14th, I’m hosting a virtual class called Self-Expression Sanctuary. It’s a combo arts, movement, and journaling class for the simple purpose of self-care and getting back to our creative self.

I’ve used the power of art, movement, and journaling on my self-care journey for a very long time. A few months ago I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Good Life Project with Jonathan Fields. He interviewed today’s guest Julia Hotz and that’s when I learned a new term (that you’ll want to know too): Social Prescribing.

Here’s more about Julia: Julia Hotz is a solutions-focused journalist and author of The Connection Cure —the first book chronicling the science, stories, and spread of social prescribing. She works at the Solutions Journalism Network, where she helps other journalists rigorously report on what’s working to solve today’s biggest problems.

Before becoming a journalist, Julia worked as a teacher, bartender, pizza server, and summer camp “forest ranger”. She enjoys hiking up mountains, biking around New York, riling up dance floors, running around parks, budget traveling around the world, and building the ‘longest road’ around Catan.

Tune into my conversation with Julia to learn about this radically simple approach to getting well and join me Saturday if you want to experience some of this magic!

  • Creating Joy with Color: Interview with Kathleen Conlon
    Dec 5 2024

I love it when things fall into place. If you caught last week’s episode, I talked about unlocking your true voice through arts, movement, and journaling. We’re continuing this thread with today’s guest, Kathleen Conlon. Kathleen is an artist friend. We did an art business online course together back in 2018-ish. Fast-forward, now she’s on my podcast! It’s been wonderful to see her progress, hear about her journey through cancer and see how her artwork has continued to transform 💖

If you’re curious about the healing nature of art, this episode is especially for you.

About Kathleen in her words: I retired from teaching in 2017 to focus on my painting. In 2018, I was diagnosed with cancer. I spent 1.5 years on treatments and can now say I am cancer free. I have discovered having a positive attitude and filling my days with joyful experiences has made all the difference in my life. Painting with bright colors is my way of creating joy with color! My art takes me on a journey of healing.

  • How to Keep Calm this Holiday Season: Solo Episode
    Nov 21 2024

How’s your week been so far? I was in Palm Springs earlier this week and over last weekend. It was one of the most fun trips of 2024. We celebrated a friend’s birthday and I didn’t realize that this annual trip has been a FOURTEEN year tradition!

Speaking of traditions, a week from today is Thanksgiving here in the US. A time of over-indulgence, giving thanks (which ought to be every day!), and it can also be a polarizing day dealing with family…

I thought you’d enjoy this today - 3 tips to keep calm throughout the holidays.

Oh and if you’re in San Francisco January 18th and want to meet IRL, I’m hosting a vision board workshop!

  • Called to Coach: Interview with Megan Gaul
    Nov 14 2024

In this week’s podcast, my guest Megan Gaul and I discussed our personal journeys in discovering and pursuing our passions, emphasizing the importance of authenticity, self-compassion, and mindfulness in career development. We also dove into career transitions, personal growth, and sustainable weight loss, highlighting the need for a holistic approach that addresses emotional and mental health.

I also got into a topic I don’t talk about - my own struggles and challenges with weight. If you’ve ever had this challenge too, this episode is especially for you.

More about Megan: Megan is a health coach from Staten Island. Her mission is to help women achieve and maintain consistent healthy habits, all while staying authentic to themselves. Her realization that this was her mission took shape with her own 100-lb weight loss in 2018, where she discovered the importance of food freedom, emotional management, and self-trust. Initially an educator, Megan realized she was being called to coach others to prioritize their own health, like she had learned to do. But unlike the diet industry at large, she did not want women to make these changes through guilt, fear, or urgency. Instead, she and her clients focus on honesty, small habit-change, celebrating improvements, and most importantly, self-compassion.

On a side note: I’ve scheduled my first 2025 vision board session in San Francisco, CA on January 18th from 11am to 1pm. Details in the show notes!
