Gangaaputr Bheeshm declared that he did not want any animosity with Paandavs. He advised that half of the kingdom be given to the Paandavs. Guru Dron agreed with Bheeshm’s advice and further advised that the Paandavs should be brought to Hastinapur with due respect. Karn, who wanted Kauravs to attack Paandavs, tried to criticize Bheeshm and Guru Dron. Karn received no support and was put in place by Guru Dron who scolded him. Vidur also supported Bheeshm and Dron. Vidur pressed on Dhrutraashtr to accept the advice received. Pressed like this, Dhrutraashtr accepted the advice of Bheeshm and Dron.
