• A Throne Room View: Gaining a New Perspective for Healing | Janet Swanson
    Nov 25 2024

    In this week’s episode of One Voice Makes a Difference, I dive into the heart behind my new Bible study, A Throne Room View: Gaining a New Perspective. This 8-week, video-driven study is now available for $45 and offers a powerful journey into God’s Word, with passages from Colossians 3:1-4, Revelation 4:1, Ephesians 2:4-9, and Philippians 4:8 serving as a foundation for transformation.

    My “why” behind writing this book is deeply personal. This study was birthed from my own journey toward healing—healing from childhood trauma and sexual abuse. I believe with all my heart that God can heal even the deepest wounds and bring complete restoration. A Throne Room View is designed to help you gain a new, heavenly perspective that can lead to freedom, peace, and hope.

    This episode also features two powerful video testimonies from Amy Novakovich and Jenny Brown, whose stories of healing will inspire you to believe that God truly can do the impossible.

    I also share about the impartation class I held to introduce this Bible study, where I witnessed God stirring hearts and changing lives.

    If you’ve ever wondered whether healing is possible or if your past can be redeemed, this episode—and this Bible study—are for you. Let’s walk this journey of transformation together.

  • The Power and Presence of God in Our Lives | Janet Swanson
    Nov 18 2024

    In this episode, I am diving deep into the powerful passages of Isaiah 40:25-31 and Isaiah 41. We explore God’s challenge to His people: “Who holds a candle to me?” The Creator, who brings forth the stars each night, never grows tired or overlooks His creation. Isaiah reminds us that God is everlasting, giving strength to the weary and empowering those who seek Him.

    I am unpacking the idea of “the hand of the Lord,” a recurring theme throughout Isaiah, symbolizing God’s direct involvement in history. From judgment to deliverance, creation to restoration, God’s hand represents His sovereignty and power. Key themes include:

    1. Judgment and Sovereignty – God orchestrates events and holds ultimate authority over nations.

    2. Deliverance and Redemption – His hand is never too short to save those who turn to Him.

    3. Creation and Providence – God’s hand crafted all that exists, affirming His control over the universe.

    4. Acknowledgment of God’s Work – We’re invited to recognize that life’s events, big or small, are shaped by His divine plan.

    This episode calls us to place our trust in God’s capable hands, confident that He’s working in our lives through both blessings and challenges. Join us for a deep reflection on Isaiah’s timeless message of hope and strength.

    The Good News of Salvation

    ISAIAH 61

    “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
    Because the Lord has anointed Me
    To preach good tidings to the poor;
    He has sent Me to [a]heal the brokenhearted,
    To proclaim liberty to the captives,
    And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

    2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
    And the day of vengeance of our God;
    To comfort all who mourn,

    3 To [b]console those who mourn in Zion,
    To give them beauty for ashes,
    The oil of joy for mourning,
    The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
    That they may be called trees of righteousness,
    The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

    4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
    They shall raise up the former desolations,
    And they shall repair the ruined cities,
    The desolations of many generations.

    5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks,
    And the sons of the foreigner
    Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

    6 But you shall be named the priests of the Lord,
    They shall call you the servants of our God.
    You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
    And in their glory you shall boast.

    7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,
    And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.
    Therefore in their land they shall possess double;
    Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

    8 “For I, the Lord, love justice;
    I hate robbery [c]for burnt offering;
    I will direct their work in truth,
    And will make with them an everlasting covenant.

    9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles,
    And their offspring among the people.
    All who see them shall acknowledge them,
    That they are the posterity whom the Lord has blessed.”

  • I THINK MYSELF HAPPY!!! How to combat negative thoughts | Janet Swanson
    Jun 17 2024
    Janet shares with you some things she has learned throughout the years about how to combat negative thoughts that brought healing to her heart. Hey you guys. I am going to share with you some things I have learned throughout the years, but... also... something that I just read that the HOLY SPIRIT BROUGHT LIGHT AND REVELATION! I THINK MYSELF HAPPY!!! Acts 26:1-3 New King James Version Paul’s Early Life 1 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You are permitted to speak for yourself.” So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself: 2 “I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews, 3 especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which have to do with the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently. I gave a short a synopsis of Acts 25-27 Everywhere Paul went resulted in conflict, opposition, resistance, but because Paul made a habit of THINKING HIMSELF HAPPY….it changed the course of negativity to something positively powerful. Miracles followed him everywhere he went. Now…I told that story in the Bible because…..Paul stated to the person who was throwing him in prison that he was a blessed man to stand before him. He was fortunate and blessed…..because of how he restructured his thoughts. I want to spend a little time on this because anxiety heightened to extreme levels to where now suicide is at an all time high. The Bible says we need to “renew our minds” Romans 12:2 We demolish arguments, pretensions, assumptions and take captive every thought! 2 Corinthians 10:5 THE BIBLE HAS A LOT TO SAY ABOUT OUR THOUGHTS! Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Matthew 12:34-40 New King James Version (NKJV) For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. So…let’s take a look at ANXIETY THAT has controlled us for far too long IN OUR THOUGHTS! Anxiety is rooted in fear. Fear has 3 components: InsecurityHelplessnessIsolation Anxiety can be found in all three of these ways: SpiritualMentalPhysical You are a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body. When your spirit collides with the Holy Spirit….now you have what is called FAITH! Now…your spirit (faith) in convincing your soul to BELIEVE that you are who God says you are, you can have what God says you can have, and you can do what God says you can do! As a born again believer, Christian…you are not obligated to give and give and give until there is nothing left. This is man’s way of thinking that if I give then God will be pleased with me. God did not say give and give and give until you are completely drained. The lie is: I have to give until I am completely drained and this is the way of the Christian life and this is what it means to lay my life down for Jesus. The Truth is: I am obligated to do the will of God. Period. Nothing less and nothing more. God does not drain me, but He fills me up! To do His perfect will results in laying my life, my will, down for what He wants! You FIGHT, AND COMBAT THE LIES BY PUSHING BACK WITH THE TRUTH! TODAY I AM BELIEVING THAT STRONGHOLDS OF NEGATIVITY, ANXIETY, FEAR AND INSECURITY WILL BE PULLED DOWN, AND BROKEN OFF YOUR LIFE! I WANT YOU GUYS TO KNOW THE BATTLE IS NOT IN YOUR HEART…IT’S IN YOUR MIND. Paul didn’t say, “I feel myself happy” He said, “I THINK myself happy” even when he was faced with death. Even when Jesus was faced with death in Hebrews 12:2 tells us very clearly: “… who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” This verse says Jesus focused on “the joy” that was set before Him as He endured the Cross. His thoughts were SET ON YOU AND ME that caused Him to endure the cross. So, remember, your feelings will deceive you, and it will infiltrate in and through your work, your finances, your relationships and the promises that God has for you. Your mental health is not built in your heart and your feelings. It is built on your thoughts. Listen to all this week’s podcast on how to combat negative thoughts!
