Kantara is a Kannada movie for those who are living under a rock. And no, this is not a review of the movie. For that please go to my website www.mysorean.com you will find it written there. I have written a long review of the movie. This episode is not an audio review of the movie. But I will be plotting Kantara on the timeline of Indian cinema and how it has changed the face of Indian cinema forever.

  • Content is King. Screen is Queen.
    Oct 21 2022

This is Episode 4. Where we talk about how the world of cinema has changed post covid. Content is King, screen is queen!

To understand that we first delve a little into what entertainment means, how and where it could have started. Then we try to understand how COVID has affected our big screen movie watching behaviour. I try, in my usual style, to figure out the 5 big trends to emerge. Then we move into our usual recommendations section where we talk about a Malayalam movie “Attention Please”.

I hope you enjoy the episode.

  • AR Rahman and Me - Part 2
    Oct 7 2022

In the second episode of Mysorean Talks, we talk about how AR Rahman's entry into the film Industry with the magical Roja catalyzed the entire nation (not just the industry or music or sound as it is usually said). We talk about some stories about Roja. And I also attempt to unpack what makes Rahman successful. I read out a short poem that I have written about him. And we have our usual recommendation to watch/ listen for the weekend (Thiruchitrambalam).
