  • Jeff Chambers visits Carnforth Station, in Lancashire, in north-west England. The 1945 film Brief Encounter was partly filmed here, and the location of many of the scenes can still be found. Jeff re-visits the romantic story, and explores its relevance to the audiences of today. Carnforth though is also the home to a working steam locomotive depot, and Jeff relates the visit of two steam-hauled trains, along with more of the history of this interesting little railway station.
