    I wrote this poem after attending a conference where a teenager spoke to a crowd of adults. The teenager was clearly nervous and had a shakey voice, but the content of their message was inspiring to all of the audience. I walked away in awe.

    I wrote this poem after a particularly hard day that I had cried. A quote came to my head by Eleanore Roosevelt, "Women are like teabags. You don't know how strong they are until you put them in hot water." At that moment I realized it wasn't the lack of difficulties around me that made me strong, but rather my willingness to keep facing them.
