Movement and creative exploration for neurodiverse and highly sensitive people

  • Summary

  • One of the biggest struggles as a highly sensitive and/or neurodiverse person is communicating the internal struggle, pain and trauma which has built up over a lifetime of trying to function "normally" in a neurotypical world.

In episode # 5 of Sensitive Being (podcast) I dive into nonverbal approaches that hold immense potential for addressing the trauma which stems from the suppression of neurodivergent identities.

In a world where neurodivergents often struggles to find their rightful place, the stories of suppression and internal battles are all too real. 💔 The pain of concealing one's authentic self, attempting to fit into a mold that doesn't embrace the brilliance of individuality – these experiences can create wounds that run deep.

This is where Creative Expression and Movement can become a beacon of hope that thrive on the language of art, movement, sound, and imagination. 🎭🎶 Creativity and movement recognise that words alone might not suffice to express the complex emotions and narratives woven into the fabric of these experiences.

The creative process becomes a vessel of liberation, a way to give voice to those emotions that have long been silenced. The brushstrokes, the melodies, the movements – they become bridges connecting the inner world to the outer realm, fostering a sense of empowerment that is deeply cathartic.
